Know your rights!
Conozca sus derechos!
On January 25, 2017, President Donald Trump announced, “It is the policy of the executive branch to empower State and local law enforcement agencies across the country to perform the functions of an immigration officer in the interior of the United States to the maximum extent permitted by law.”
To help immigrants adjust to this new reality, community-based organizations and religious communities throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex have sponsored classes to teach immigrants about their rights under the U.S. Constitution – most important among these, the right to remain silent.
Many such know-your-rights trainings are listed here. Unless otherwise noted, they are free and open to the public. To learn more about the right to remain silent enshrined in the U.S. Constitution, click here: English / Spanish
